The Northern Challenge is just that, a challenge! Our annual event held at Girard State Forest contains technical trails with twists, bends and a few hills. This event is counted towards the National Pointscore tally that our affiliating body, ASSA, organises. It allows mushers from around the country to compete at this event and get a taste of Queensland sleddog racing! It is an exciting event that is open to everyone, including beginners. We typically run 3 heats, however we have dropped back to 2 heats following the Nationals. NEGRC has held two very successful national events in 2016 and 2023, making NEGRC the premier sleddog club in QLD.
