About The Event
In preparation for the 2022 ASSA Nationals and NEGRC Northern Challenge, the tracks will need work! If you can help out message or comment on the event.
VENUE: Tenterfield Endurance Riders Club campsite, Girard State Forest, Northern NSW. Located 44km east of Tenterfield (heading towards Casino) on the Bruxner Highway; or only 8km west of the town of Drake (heading from Casino).
From Queensland: There are three possible routes from South East Queensland to get there; The Pacific Highway via Lismore/Casino, the Mount Lindsey Highway via Beaudesert (most direct but windy back roads), or the New England Highway via Warwick/Stanthorpe/Tenterfield (easiest route towing a trailer). All routes are approximately 4 - 5 hours’ drive from Brisbane.
From Interstate: The two main highways heading north from the southern states are the Pacific Highway and the New England Highway. If you are coming up the Pacific head towards the towns of Casino or Lismore, and then take the Bruxner Highway westbound towards the town of Drake. If you come up via the New England Highway, head to Tenterfield and then turn east on the Bruxner Highway for approx 44km.
The entrance to the forest can be a bit difficult to find but we will have plenty of signs out either side of the entrance road and in the forest to help you find the campsite.
VENUE FACILITIES: This large fantastic shady campsite is located in the middle of the forest. Two hot showers are available via a large water tank gravity fed through a fire drum. There are three toilets within the campsite - they are pit toilets (they are clean and well maintained) but please bring your own toilet paper just in case. Other than the facilities at the camp, the rest you will have to bring with you.
PLEASE NOTE: You MUST bring your own drinking water for you and your dogs, the water onsite if pumped up from the creek and is not safe for drinking by you or your dogs.
There are three large flood lights that provide plenty of lighting to most of the campsite at night.
