Sleddog Training Weekend

Come along to Esk - for a training run.

Saturday night from 4:30pm - 7pm - might try and make the pub for dinner Sunday morning from 6am - 9am

We will look to do some passing training and work on anything you may want assistance with.

A couple of tracks will be marked so you can run as a group or by yourself.

TRAINING SITE Directions: Coming from Hampton Turn on Esk-Hampton rd from the New England Highway Drive approximately 35km Turn right into Esk Forest Road Follow dog signs to race site

Coming from Esk township Turn onto Esk-Hampton rd from Brisbane Valley Highway Drive approximately 10.6km Turn left into Esk Forest road Follow dog signs to race site

What to bring: - Drinking water for you and your dog - Something to secure your dog (stake out line, secure crate etc) - Suitable lights for mushing after dark or before day break - Helmet - Safety kit - Scooter, push bike, rig - Spare clothes in case it rains - Means of collecting and removing your dogs poo, from the forest. - Wear comfortable clothes and footwear - Any dog wear you think you will need If you are camping: - something warm and suitable to sleep in - Any food and drinks you may require There are no toilets or any amenities in the forest, at the training / race site. There is NO smoking or fires permitted in the forest. If we get back to the scout den in time, we may have a fire. Only one communal fire in the designated fire pit is permitted. ________________________________________________

Camping location: Esk Scout Den There is showers, toilets and a kitchen that we have access to. There is microwaves and a fridge available. There is area within the scout den you can set up a bed and sleep. Or there is ample room outside in the grassed area that you can set up a swag, tent or caravan. Camping is unpowered. *Do not camp on the sports oval.*
