Relay for Cause

This event will be raising money for both the Esk Scout Group and Happy Tails Rescue.

We will be meeting in the forest Saturday afternoon to have a walk through before heading in to Esk to the Esk Grand Hotel for dinner.

Sunday morning will commence at 7am with a drivers meet and random team draw. The relay will aim to start 1/2hr from the end of drivers meeting.

Each team will be randomly picked from a hat, teams will consist of 3 people. Within your team each team member will need to be allocated to a class; Canicross/Bikejor/Scooter. All classes will be run with 1 dog only. The trail will be roughly 1.8km-2.5km.

The race will start with a mass Canicross start with the next class being bikejor and the final class scooter.

Entry is $20 per person with money being split between the 2 charities/community groups.

Venue

The race site can be found as Esk Forest Road, Redbank Creek, Queensland. Entrance into the forest is just off the Esk Hampton Road, into Esk Forest Road. If you are coming from Esk, this is on the left about 50m after the new creek crossing (ie, where the bridge was washed out following the 2011 floods), approx 11km from the start of the Esk Hampton Road in Esk itself.

Overnight camping will be ten minutes back down the road at Esk, at the Scout Hall, and we will have access to the amenities there. There will be a gold coin donation required for each person camping please, to say thanks to the Scouts for letting us use their facilities over the long weekend. You can sleep inside the den and there are tables and chairs inside we can use, as well as cooking facilities!
